On August 14 in Berlin, Caroline Lillian Schopp will be in discussion with Claire Bishop (Presidential Professor, CUNY Graduate Center) on performance art at the launch of Bishop’s new book, Disordered Attention: How We Look at Art and Performance Today, at the KW Institute for Contemporary Art. Schopp is serving in this role on the invitation of the bi-lingual journal of contemporary art Texte zur Kunst, for which her recent publications include the obituary for Günter Brus and “Importunate Feminism: On Florentina Holzinger’s Ophelia’s Got Talent,” an essay on the feminist critique of violence in Holzinger’s staggering works of dance-theater, body art, stunting, and spectacle.
