Jason Mientkiewicz is currently completing a draft of his dissertation in Warsaw with the support of a Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Award. In Poland he is researching Katarzyna Kobro and Władysław Strzemiński, two artists and members of the avant-garde group Affirmers of the New Art who left Soviet Russia for Poland in the 1920s where they worked, taught and founded the second largest museum of contemporary art in Europe before the Second World War.
