Aaron M. Hyman’s Rubens in Repeat: The Logic of the Copy in Colonial Latin America, winner of the Latin American Studies Association’s 2022 Best Book in Colonial Latin American Studies, was last week awarded Honorable Mention for the Association of Latin American Art-Arvey Foundation Book Award and Honorable Mention for the Renaissance Society of America’s Phyllis Goodhart Gordon Book Prize for Best Book in Renaissance Studies. In addition, an article he co-authored with Prof. Dana Leibsohn (Smith College) entitled “Lost and Found at Sea, or a Shipwreck’s Art History” was awarded the 2023 Best Article Prize by the Association for Latin American Art.
